Streszczenie
Wiele osób z najpoważniejszymi deficytami wymaga zapewnienia alternatywnych sposobów komunikacji
i sterowania. Jednym z możliwych rozwiązań są interfejsy mózg-komputer, wykorzystujące pomiary
aktywności elektrofizjologicznej do pozamięśniowej komunikacji człowieka z otoczeniem. Celem niniejszego
artykułu jest ocena potencjału obecnych i przyszłych interfejsów mózg-komputer w terapii i opiece
nad pacjentami z najpoważniejszymi deficytami, w tym wynikającymi z uszkodzeń układu nerwowego.

Brain-computer interfaces as solutions for disabled persons with damages of the
nervous system
Summary
Many people with the most severe deficits require providing alternative means of the communication and
control. One of the possible solutions are brain-computer interfaces utilizing electrophysiological activity
measurements to non-muscular communication with the outside world. The aim of this article is to
evaluate the potential of current and future brain-computer interfaces in the therapy and care of patients
with the most severe deficits, including those resulting from damages of the nervous system.
